- 400 grams rolled oats *I prefer quick cooking or briefly chopping whole rolled oats in a blender or food processor
- 50 grams freeze dried berries I like a combo of raspberries, blueberries, strawberries
- 120 grams dried blueberries or currants!
Overnight Muesli
Add 40 grams of the berry muesli, 120 grams of milk, and 170 grams of yogurt to a bowl and stir to combine.
Then add in 40 grams of frozen raspberries and 40 grams of frozen blueberries and stir again.
Place in the fridge overnight. If you make more than one serving or plan to leave it in the fridge for more than one night, cover the bowl with a lid or a layer of plastic.
In the morning serve with more fresh fruit on top or as is!
Tips for Berry Muesli
- This is one of those recipes that almost doesn't need a recipe which means it doesn't really need tips but here are the basics.
- For the best overnight muesli texture, use quick cooking rolled oats or give your whole rolled oats a quick blitz in the blender or food processor. This helps break them up and gives a thicker creamier texture.
- Using a combination of dried fruit and freeze dried fruit in the muesli brightens the flavor and creates a good variety of textures.
- You can 100% make this recipe your own by adding nuts and seeds but I like to keep this one light and full of berries. If you choose to add nuts I recommend giving them a quick toast in the pan over low heat to enhance their flavor.
- If you struggle to digest raw oats and don't want to turn the muesli into an overnight muesli, you can toast the oats at 350 F in the oven until just barely starting to darken. Then let them cool and mix with the other ingredients.
